Sometimes I think being broke is a good thing. For instance, instead of going out partying at bars, or spending mega bucks on fancy video games, you might be more inclined to take a low-tech, family and friends road to entertainment and stuff to do.
For instance, you might take to playing cards – or maybe you played cards years ago, or have played cards all along – but card games are an inexpensive way to have fun and spend time with your friends and family. Playing cards can also be a social event – especially if you are a bridge player. Bridge players form clubs, so they have plenty of people to play bridge with!

Card games of all types are a great thing to do when you are broke. A deck of cards can cost as little as a dollar, and be used for years and years and… I have some decks that are over a decade old – and well worn but loved and still playable.
